Man: A Thinking Animal

Man is a thinking animal. God has given the facility of thinking to man only. In spite of that man is scarred of thinking today. We must have seen people often avoid going into thinking. they feel if they start to think they will remain back. In the world of competition and comparison, everyone wants to be No.1 which is not possible for all. Young generation believes more in action than thinking. they feel thinking an unnecessary process.
What do you think about it. Do you think thinking a useless process or a meaningful process? Give your arguments in at least 150 words.

  1. Thinking is a progressive thing . Any work doing without thinking given almost harmfull results . God has been given us thinking power to do things for betterment of mankind. But now a days man does not want to think. Thinking is the best way to improve our own personality . Thinking gives us various ways to do any work and it also gives food to our mental status . It is also said that think before do because thinking tells us right or wrong aspects of that work . Thinking is also a good exercise for brain. Thinking makes us capable to handle any situations… so we can that thinking is not a useless thing it is the most important thing to make progress…..

  2. In this rivaling century, thinking has acquired a underneath position in materialistic minds. The prior reason behind the despairing perception towards thinking is the desire to be at the pinnacle of success, underestimating the limit of devastation.A man has forgotten that the power of thinking is the only priceless gift which distinguishes man from animal.Thinking reveals the merits and demerits of your decision.Without thinking"BIT SUCCESS SHORT LIVED BLISS AND ENDLESS DESTRUCTION"...Don't try to be a part of beehive"THINK DIFFERENT,BE DIFFERENT AND MAKE THE DIFFERENCE"....

  4. Man is a thinking animal this is true because man has only a power of thinking that makes him different from the animals.Actually man and animal both will talk, walk and both life will depend on water and food.So what is the difference between them. The main difference is the use of mind i.e.THINKING. it is only a power that makes a difference between a man and an animal. the way to use the mind properly in any situation is known as thinking.

but now a days as we all see that man do not use his power of thinking properly. IN simple words thinking is that power that helps a man to learn etiquette which animals don't have.

But As we see today man will also loses his etiquette. sometime we can see that a nature of human being becomes rude and is same as animals. This is all because of thinking as when man loses his temper their thinking power will not work properly this is one of the ex. that a man man is just like an animal without thinking.

  5. Man:A thinking animal
    Whenever we
    experience or see in our
life, we try to put them
    in a particular order so
    as to comprehend a
    wider meaning. Why do
    we do this? It is
    because we want to
    arrive the truth. When it
    is a question of getting
    to know about the
    truth of external world
    around us, we can apply
    sudden procedures. But
    understanding of inner
world of the self is still
    more difficult. Who am I
    and where have I come
    from? To answer this
    you can name your
    parents, place of birth
    and so on.
But that is not all. You
    have to go far back
    time, say, 100 millions
    years back. At that
    time man as a creature
    did not exist on this
    planet. Did man come
    from the heaven or
    another planet? Man
    evolved from the
    animals already living on
    this planet. We will
    steady this aspect of
    the descent of man.
    You would not perhaps
    appreciate somebody
    calling you an animal.
    But the fact remains
    that we are animals!
Man is just one of the
    10,00,000 varieties of
    animals living on the
    earth. We can compare
    ourselves with a large
    number of animals and
    we can be assured of
    listing a number of
    similarities and
    differences. But in many
    respects man as an
    animal is unique.
    Structurally man is fully
    erect. He has a double
    curved back bone. He
    has a prominent chin
    and walking feet.
    The rate of embryonic
    development has
    slowed down. Man has
    a longer period of
    childhood and maturity.
    Man can evade
    predators. He knows
    how to withstand
    extreme environments.
    He can grow and obtain
    an extraordinary
    amount of food with
    which he can support a
    huge population. There
    are two distinctive
    features in this body
    which enable him to
    become so distinctive.
One of them is his well
    developed brain and the
    other one is his ability
    to move the fingers of
    hand and feet,
    particularly those of
    hands ion which he can
    bring his thumb close to
    any other finger. In the
    course of evaluation,
    the ability enables him
    to handle tools.
    His brain allowed him to
    develop language. With
    which he could
    communicate with
    others effectively. Man
    can conceptualized and
    embark upon an idea.
    Man can think about the
    future. Man through of
    living behind something
    so that future
    generations could
    benefit from his
    endeavor. He developed
    the ability to write and
    pass on information and
    knowledge and mankind
    benefited from this.
    Rapid progression of
    thoughts and ideas
    further stimulated the
    human brain which
    accelerates his own
    evaluation. Man became
    social.
    He started developing
    social framework. This
    led to the development
    of civilization and
    culture. The ability of
    man to use the
    environment to his
    advantage is
    unsurpassed. These are
    the attributes of the
    animal man which set
    him apart from the
    other animals.

  6. Actually, the word “haywan” (animal) means “alive/living or creature with a spirit” in Arabic. As for the word of “Thinking”, it means “creature that has mind-reasoning”. Within this context, according to Aristotle’s view, man is called “thinking animal” that is “a living thing with a mind who thinks.”

However, from the point of view of the value that the Qur’an gives man, it is not appropriate to call man “a thinking animal” because man is a creature who was created in the best stature (ahsan taqwim), vicegerent on the earth, equipped with superior qualities over all other creatures and has been favored with Allah’s thousand and one names and a practitioner of His orders and prohibitions on the earth.

The expression “Thinking or talking animal” is far away from defining man because man is not only a creature who thinks but also a supervising officer whose imagination is extensive, an owner of a mind mechanism, capable of traveling on the sea, land and sky and establishing communication with Allah (SWT) via angels/revelation, favored with inspiration and equipped with sixth sense.

  7. A trifling unit in a boundless plan
    Amidst the enormous insignificance
Of the unpeopled cosmos' fire-whirl dance,
Earth as by accident engendered man,

A creature of his own grey ignorance,
    A mind half-shadow and half-gleam, a breath
That wrestles, captive in a world of death,
To live some lame brief years. Yet his advance,

    Attempt of a divinity within,
A consciousness in the inconscient Night,
To realise its own supernal Light
Confronts the ruthless forces of the Unseen.

Aspiring to godhead from insensible clay
He travels slow-footed towards the eternal day.

  8. I recently saw a prominent anarchist saying, in effect: “Look, we can all go wrong — after all, one of the greatest thinkers in history called man ‘the political animal.’”

This statement, I think, exhibits a common misunderstanding of what Aristotle meant here. Man is a political animal, the Philosopher held, because he is the one animal that tries to order his social arrangements according to his sense of, and rational arguments about, the justice of those arrangements. Thus the anarchist, in debating the justice of the State, is illustrating, and not disputing, Aristotle’s point.

It is, in fact, Hobbes’s position that the anarchist should dispute — if man is not naturally a political animal, then justice is just a creation imposed on the natural human exogenously, and there really is no arguing against the justice of the Leviathan — there simply is no justice in the absence of whatever it defines as just!

man is a beautiful creation of god .it not only think but act wisely also.the word "hayman"(animal)means "alive or creature with a sprit" .in arabic "thinking animal" that is "a living thing with a mind who thinks
from "quran"which said, that it is not appropriate to call man a "thinking animal"b'coz man is creature who was created in the best stature, vicegerent on the earth, equiped with superior qualities over all other creatures
the xpression"thinking or talking animal"is far away from defining man b'coz man is not only a creature who thinksd but also a supervising officer whose imagination is xtensive ,an owner of mind mechanism capable ofravellig on the sea, land and sky and establishing contact with a god via angels/revelation,favoured with inspiration and equiped with 6TH sense

so we can say that man is unique and specific creation of god, which think and act wisely which differ man from other creation of god and animal

  10. MAN A THINKING ANIMAL
Man fits into the scheme of nature as a "thinking animal". The mind, that which distinguished man as a rational being, is "incapable of being of being destroyed." It is a special part of the psyche or soul which in turn is the animating force of the body. The soul is the body's "form", and unlike Plato's soul, does not have an existence separate from the body. Thus it does not survive the death of the body. Yet it possesses both actuality and potentiality, and is the efficient, formal and final cause of the body. That is, it has a goal or end, and carries within it the means to that end.

  12. MAN :A THINKING ANIMAL
Thinking is the most precious gift, given by god to man. This is the only thing which distinguishes man from animals. Man can think while animals can’t think. But thinking should be done in a positive manner. It’s being rightly said thatthink before u act. We should think ten times before doing anything. Today man has developed & discovered new technologies and advancement, this is all the result of his thinking. thinking and imaginations have provided a boon to the society. How is that possible that without thinking man can achieve his goals. Thinking is obviously required insetting your goals, desires & dreams . but in today’s competetive world people don’t even want to think, and waste their precious time in thinking.,they just want everything on their hands and proceed further. They donot want to learn the cause or concept of thing but just get to it.
According to me this is wrong manner of competing. We need to think, we need to do our self introspection that whether we are right or wrong. Those who do not think before they act are drawn into the pit. Its also rightly being said that a little knowledge is a dangerous thing that’s why we need to think over the nmatter, discuss itand then come to conclusion. hence I would like to conclude by saying --- THINK BEFORE YOU ACT…….
